TODAY'S MANISTEE
CHARTER FISHING REPORT
9-13 Busy, busy, busy describes the last month
and is evidenced by the lack of reports. Fishing ended up a
littler slower overall with a little larger fish. This shows that
the DNR plan to reduce stocks may be working as planned. Our
observation was that there was more bait and still plenty of fish.
Almost all of our fish were very healthy and provided a great season.
The pheasant guiding season has already begun and to accommodate this we
are pulling the boat after this weekends charters. If you still
want to fish there is plenty of fishing left and I can recommend some
very good captains ands if you are thinking of hitting the field for a
fantastic fall pheasant hunt go to our website link below and give us a
call.
8-21 Wow sorry about three weeks of no updates
just too busy and tired and didn't realize it had been that long.
Fishing as been good with larger Kings this year. Two thirty
pounders were caught last week on the beach north of Manistee and the
average seems to be up a couple of pounds. Cold water has kept us
fishing on the beach and in the harbor for over a week now but predicted
south winds should move the best fishing back to the shelf this weekend.
Still fishing everyday until Sept 7 but will try to get some more
updates in.
8-1 Enjoyed a day off today by heading to
Traverse and purchasing a new fish cooler along with a few baits.
According to reports fishing was fantastic again today and should
continue. I will try to get a few updates in but we have 7 trips
in 4 days and I know how I get a bit behind. The thermocline has
stabilized and is a bit deeper but those early fish are still biting up
high.
Good Fishin!
